Breast Cancer Breast Cancer Treatment Chemotherapy

Combination chemotherapy can reduce the risk of dying of breast cancer by about 25 – 35 percent

Studies have shown that combination chemotherapy can reduce the annual risk of death by 25 percent to 35 percent and cancer recurrence by 25 percent. Chemotherapy combinations are used in early breast cancer to make the cancer cells more vulnerable. Different drugs damage or kill cancer cells in different ways. Chemotherapy combinations often go by acronyms named after the first initial of each drug. Multiple regimens of combination systemic chemotherapy are available.
